Our First Thanksgiving...

....at our house this year! I was so excited to host our first major holiday celebration and had it all planned out. I bought decorations, put up our 1st Christmas tree, bought the girls some stuff to keep them busy, had all the food ready, and was pumped up to go to the Renaissance Festival on Thanksgiving Friday. We were going to have a blast! That was until most of us got sick....fooey!

I had already come down with something early last week but I was feeling much better by Thanksgiving and was excited to have energy and was ready for some fun! Then my sister calls and tells me that Blake, my brother in law, had a stomach bug and wasn't going to make it...sniffle. So the rest of us had a nice dinner together and were very thankful to all be healthy and to enjoy each others company. So we all went to bed thinking that we were going to get up, have some pumpkin pancakes and set out for Ren Fest....ha, we only wished! That night I ended up feeling worse than the days before, my dog Tex was throwing up all night from eating turkey, my niece woke up with a fever, and my sister was surprised with the stomach bug that Blake had. Needless to say, we didn't make it to Ren Fest and my poor mom, dad, and Cory packed everything up for us and everyone left. I was so bummed. I wanted to have a wonderful family weekend full of fun and memories and it was all shot down in one night. I will have to say though that I am very thankful we were able to have a nice Thanksgiving dinner together and I guess that is all that matters. Here are some pictures:
