A Mashburn Weekend

This past weekend we threw my sister a surprise 30th birthday bash at their house and it went better than I had ever imagined!! I had been planning it for a couple of weeks hoping that she had not heard anything from anyone. Friday I called her saying that I was in Austin and was wondering if she and the girls wanted to have a "girls day" and go shopping. Of course that worked but I was still worried that she knew something UNTIL she kept saying things here and there that reassured me that she had NO idea! She would say how Blake has made no plans to celebrate her birthday except that he would "let" her go to her babyshower on Sunday without the kids and that afterwards, she could come home and watch football with him...haha. I was cracking up and playing along of course. She also kept telling the girls that as soon as they get home they need to take baths and go to bed...blah, blah, blah...I was thinking about how much fun they were going to have the rest of the night playing with cousins, eating cake, cookies, etc. We walked in the door and there was a wall of people waiting for us...it was AWESOME!!!! She was definitely surprised, along with the girls, and we partied the rest of the night. Here are some pics:

This is taken right as we walked in the door...Ashlyn is still trying to figure it out!

Everyone started coming towards her for hugs...HAHA, we gotcha!

Joe Daddy being funny...we all had a blast!

On top of throwing the surprise party, on Sunday we had Kim's 3rd babyshower. Luckily with this one, Kim's wonderful friends hosted it! The only thing I had to do was design and make the cookies, which was fun. It was a very nice baby shower with yet again, a big turn out. We ate and just enjoyed everyone's company. Kim got a lot of nice things for the baby (I think the name will be Kora...at least I hope so!). It could have turned out to be another birthday party because Kim had been having contractions the whole time. What a weekend that would have been!! I can't wait to see my new niece and hopefully I will get into town in time to see the birth when she decides to make her grand enterance!

My first decorative cookies and they taste even better than Cookies n' Bloom! Well, that's what everyone was saying...
