Adventures in Wine and the Texas hill country!

Cory and I just got back from a lovely 4 day getaway to San Antonio and then to Fredericksburg to experience the Texas Hill Country Wine Trail. It was so much fun and what a great way to relax and get away from it all! We stayed on the Riverwalk our first night and met up with my long-time friend and softball mate, George (aka Andrea) and her husband and daughter. This meeting was absolutely wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast catching up on what is going on in our lives and laughing about fun times we had in the past. There is nothing better than rekindling a friendship that has meant so much to you growing up. It was also amazing to see Ashlyn, her daughter, who is so adorable and seems to aquire the batting skills to become the next famous softball player!

Our adventures continued on to Fredericksburg, which is definitely a place that everyone should visit at least once in their lives. Not only is this German town quaint, but the food is out of this world, not to mention the German beer too! We had so much fun walking up and down Main St. going into the boutiques and taking in the beautiful scenery. The bluebonnets were out in full bloom as well as many other Texas wildflowers. The winery trail was fantastic and will definitely return to those that were our favorite! It has sparked an interest to do a little more research on just how wine is made because it tastes so good. I think that we have officially become 'wino's' and hope to make it to the California wineries in the next year or so.
